After 60 years in the dental business we have learned that old ideas should be utilized to the fullest. This is apparent with the use of hybrid composites and bonded to gold restorations. The invention of "pryroplast crowns," "Steele's Facings" and the use of gold 40 years ago has been modified to suit the needs of today.
This evolution of dental materials has always fascinated me right from the beginning. I remember watching vulcanized dentures come out of the acyrilizer as it was called. I can even recall when Matt Kruzcen came to work for my father and I used to sit and watch him fabricate gold inlays and crowns.
The dental lab was a way of life for me. As far back as I can remember the lab has been a place to go and play, especially the plaster bench. This is still true today when I put my labcoat on and start my day at work. Knowing at an early age this would eventually be my career choice, I received my formal education at George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, graduating in 1991 with honors. A a few years later I wrote the exam to become a Registered Dental Technologist. Eventually I purchased the business from my father in 1999. I wish my father well in his retirement and hope that my career is as fulfilling to me as his was to him.
Now after ten years, my life has had many changes. These include my wife and children.

The only thing that has not seemed to change is coming to work to play!
